You're Part of the Solution!

Vermont is the hub for the sustainable food systems movement, and the University of Vermont is a recognized leader in providing real-world, practical, and skills-based educational programs to cultivate leaders in the food systems movement.

We offer a number of one-of-a-kind programs for students at all levels, centered around experiential learning and active research, to give you the skills to be a leader in sustainable food systems.  Start a farm, manage a food hub, open a food co-op, research solutions, start a movement!  Join our community and collaborate with our professors, leaders, fellow students, and alumni.

Whether you are an aspiring food systems activist, practitioner, professional, researcher, or scholar, our programs can fit any schedule, with offerings ranging from short intensives to online programs, to full Master's programs.  We are experts in the holistic landscape of food systems (the entire supply chain), from food production through food retail, as well as the social sciences and activism that supports making progress in improving the food system.  All of our programming reflects the complex interactions between these players in the current context of climate change.
